What is Stress? How does it relate to Fear?

We think of stress in terms of being "under pressure", pending deadlines, work overload, having unrealistic expectations on ourselves, trying to live up to somebody else's ideas and expectations, etc. Why does this make us feel stressed? Where does stress ultimately come from? The answer is FEAR. Behind all of these stressful conditions is the under current of fear. Stress is one of fear's best friends and it is a subtle way to wear us down, both physically & mentally. Just think of stress like a pressure cooker, the longer the pressure builds the more volatile it becomes!

Stand up to Fear, and Dismantle Stress:

We all have experienced the fear of failing, of not being good enough, of not being liked, the fear of being confronted, and quite possibly the fear of being attacked; the list goes on and on. What if there were a way to re-create some of those particular fear/stress scenarios and encounter them with a new approach that works through and eventually acclimates and eventually inoculates you to the fear altogether. What if we could take it even a step further, an over-kill approach, and learn to deal with high intensity situations that we sometimes encounter: verbal confrontations and physical assaults. After learning to confront and overcome these fears, wouldn't it change our responses to fear and stress in our everyday lives/experiences? The obvious answer is, of course.

Conflict; a Catalyst to Personal Empowerment:

Through our specialized training you will have the opportunity to learn some of the most amazing skills for not only surviving a life-threatening assault, but also for overcoming the fear and stress involved with all types of daily conflict. A conflict can come in many ways: a disagreement, a verbal attack or a physical assault. This unique training produces and reveals deep levels of confidence and empowerment. This feeling of empowerment changes the way you feel about yourself; it also changes the way you see others and the way others see you. As a result, there is a good chance that you will no longer be an attractive prey for assaults of any kind.

Role Playing as a Tool for Growth:

Through provocative Stress & Fear Inoculation Exercises, Verbal De-Escalation Skills, Conflict Resolution Tools, Fear Management Tools, Creative Conflict Role-Playing & Realistic Self Protection Tactics you will learn how to get challenged by confrontations and conflicts. By accepting situations as a challenge, rather than seeing them as threats, you will discover new levels of focus, centerdness and inner strength. These skills will apply not only to external situations in your life, but also internal conflicts and obstacles.
